This event has been included in the national programme of events coordinated by the Committee «Greece 2021», on the occasion of the celebration of the 200 years after the Greek revolution of 1821. […] Works of 38 renowned visual artists and artists will be presented, inspired by our theme. These works are selflessly donated by the visual artists to the school’s gallery, in order to inspire the young pupils.

PAINTING EXHIBITION OF PUPILS & VISUAL ARTISTS
«I was a child in ’21»

The Delphi Festival «The Talking Water» and the Association of Friends of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi co-organize the painting exhibition «I was a child in ’21» at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, in Delphi. The exhibition was initially organized by the 5th Primary School of Dafni «Georgios Bouzianis», the First Directorate of Primary Education of Athens, the Museum of Greek Children’s Art and the Organization for Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos in collaboration with the General State Archives of Greece, the Hellenic American Union, as well as in collaboration and support of the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos.
This event has been included in the national programme of events coordinated by the Committee «Greece 2021», on the occasion of the celebration of the 200 years after the Greek revolution of 1821.
Artworks by the pupils of the school will be presented in the exhibition, with themes such as life, preparation and the heroes of 1821, reflecting the knowledge that the pupils have gained in their school education and the images they have studied from paintings and other works, creating a sense of pride and honor for their homeland. The pupils of the school created the paintings under the supervision of Mrs. Athanasia Sklirou (curator of the Museum of Greek Children’s Art).
The exhibition will present works by 38 renowned visual artists who were inspired by our theme. These works are selflessly donated by the visual artists to the school’s gallery, in order to inspire the young pupils.
Archival material from the General State Archives of Greece will also be exhibited, related to the child during the pre-revolutionary and revolutionary period. Also on display will be handmade traditional costumes (genuine copies) of Thesprotia by the creator Panagiota Panou. Finally, it will be possible to see original drawings of Greek traditional costumes of Thesprotia by Gisis Papageorgiou from the Collection of the Hellenic American Union.
